Our new fabric cutting table - tada!
A Cutting table is essential for any fashion business and our move to Wyke Road, Fish Island/Hackney Wick gave us the opportunity to upgrade to a bigger & better table. We've moved!
We have finally left Vyner Street in Bethnal Green, East London where we've been resident for over 30 years. So its all been a bit of an upheaval with lots of kaboodle to relocate. Which is why we haven't posted much recently as we've been soooo busy setting up the factory. Apologies.

London Guildhall - Christmas Market
Here we are squidged in front of a beautiful gothic window at the London Guildhall Christmas market. I wasn't too sure whether to focus on the umbrellas or the window to be honest!It was a great opportunity to meet & greet some of our customers (maybe you?) and get to know more lovely craft makers and independents. While also helping to raise money for the Red Cross.

Launched - new range of sustainable plastic free umbrellas!
We have launched our new sustainable and virtually plastic free range of umbrellas.We have been on a long journey to identify every component in our umbrellas which uses oil in some form or another. and to replace it with one which doesn't. Easier than it looks. And we are nearly there! We have replaced or found workarounds for 99%. Leaving only the strong water resistant polyester thread.This means we are also further down the road to reducing our carbon footprint and going net zero. Please che

We're at Wimbledon!
Well.........our umbrella made it to Wimbledon! With thanks to @peonies_and_pencils who was very pleased to have her trusty Ince Umbrella with her to help protect from the rain showers. In her own words "it felt rather fitting to carry around a fine piece of English craftsmanship, at the most English sporting event of them all.

Makers Market at The Royal Exchange
What a week! Had a great time at the Makers Market in The Royal Exchange showcasing our quality umbrellas and some of the traditional skills we still use to make them. Here is our Carolyn doing an early demonstration for itv London, building up interest for the workshop she led showing people how to hand stitch an inside rosette. We've won an award!
Very proud to start 2022 with an award! Common Objective - a sustainable fashion platform - has given us an award to recognise our efforts in making our umbrellas more sustainable. Last Orders! Monday 20th December
Last orders for delivery before Christmas is Monday 20th December.All orders placed after this date will be delivered during the first week of January. We will be shutting our factory workshop for a restorative break during the Christmas season. Looking forward to seeing you all in 2022!
